Happy Friday! We thought we would share good news after much work we have a favorable decision on a case for a woman who has chronic pancreatitis with gastrointestional disorder. Our client’s medical records contained many errors in the calculation of the claimant’s body mass index (BMI) which led to a denial of the claim. While preparing the case for hearing, we noticed the claimant’s height had been recorded incorrectly in many of the medical records. Upon re-calculating her BMI correctly for each office visit it became apparent that the claimant met the requirements for low body weight. When the corrected BMI information was handed to the Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) the case was approved for this very worthy client. We hope our client gets the care and support she needs to have a happy and healthy New Year!
